                                    QOMBI
                                    =====

               A game to engage the other side of your brain
               ---------------------------------------------

QOMBI is a solo card-like game. The rules are learnt in minutes. The game is
highly configurable to suit your needs and taste.

Check out the QOMBI_txt file - or the online manual at

                www.knoware.no/doc/QOMBIMan.htm

for the rules and other information!

* If you are _updating_ Qombi by overwriting a previous version, please *
* check the _qmb_dat_s0_f_ directory for a file called IvoryRim_spr,    *

Requirements
------------
QOMBI requires SMSQ/E, GD2 mode 16..33 at a minimum resolution of 512x384.
It also requires minimum 1Mb RAM (depending on display) plus a hard disk.

The program requires SMSQ/E 3.26+ (preferably V3.34+) Liberation Software's
QLib_run (or QLib_sys) V3.36+, and ptrmen_cde (V4.10+) from Albin Hessler/
Marcel Kilgus.

The toolkits must be loaded in your system before the game starts. They
can be found in the _bin directory if required. These are the most up to
date versions at the time of writing, so if you have a problem with QOMBI,
try exchanging your versions of the toolkits for these.

How to Install
--------------
To install the game, unzip it to your games directory (or to test it first,
if you have at least 2 Mb RAM, unzip it to a ram disk.)

Note: The maximum directory "depth" you can unzip to is 11 characters. For
example, if you unzip to a directory called "win1_games_other_" it will
not work!

If your unzip program is in win1_zip_, and the QOMBI version X.xx zip file
is in win1_temp_, and you want to install it in win1_games_ then do the
following:

        EW win1_zip_unzip; "win1_temp_QOMBIXxx_zip -d win1_games_"

This will create a new directory in win1_games_ called win1_games_qmb_

You could do worse than, in your main system SBASIC window, typing:

        LRUN win1_games_qmb_boot

This boot program will do a basic check of your system to see whether the
system meets the necessary requirements, and whether it has the toolkits
it needs loaded. (However, it cannot check for the correct versions of
these toolkits!)
