DotRenDir
=========
Sometimes when unzipping, or copying between QL media and external systems
file name extension underscores become dots, or dots become underscores.
This program fixes that quick and easy.
Requirements
============
All systems
Qlib_run V3.36+ or equivalent
Usage
=====
DotRenDir is a programs I have used for a while to fix this problem with a
minimum of hassle. It will convert a single file, or all files in a
directory, or all file in a whole directory tree from a user-supplied
starting point, converting dots to underscore or vice versa.
The program is menu driven and self-explanatory. I suggest to have it
attached to some menu or program launcher for easy access.
NB: QPC2 has an option to make dots look like underscores when viewing
files on DOS devices from within QPC2. I have this swtched off! as it can
cause one of the worst calamatities thinkable for a filesystem apart from
a total head crash: Two files in the same folder with the same name! 8-O
Of course, only one of them is accessible, namely the physically first one.
So I cant say how DotRenDir will react in that situation. On your head be
it!
