Msprv/Sprv
                               ==========

The Multi-Sprite Viewer and Sprite Viewer

Its been more than 20 years since Msprv/Sprv saw the light of day. I
haven't been lazy since then; there have been many updates and quite a
few attempted updates, many of which just didn't work to my liking and
so were never let loose on the public.

One of the difficulties keeping the programs up to date was that the
situation with sprites, graphic drivers - SMSQ/E altogether, was quite
dynamic at the time and over many subsequent years, so it was hard to
keep up with the changes. Also, documentation was hard to come by, being
often either too light or too technical and obtuse. Not being a
full-time programmer meant that it could take years to assimilate the
required information, gleaned from the said documentation, or the SMSQ/E
sources, or discovered laboriously by heuristic means, and further years
still to find the time to do much about it.

Well, things have slowed down, unfortunately perhaps, and I have more
time on my hands. I have been doing other sprite-related stuff, the
understanding of which has allowed me to better be able to get to grips
with some of the issues I had with previous versions of Msprv/Sprv.

So here they are, in all their gory glory, in a new combined version
0.20! Much of the code, especially Sprv, is rewritten from scratch. They
are still not "perfect" by any measure, but good enough for now to let
them go for a spin.

The best way to improve them would be to hear back from anyone using these
programs! To discover bugs or missing features, or improve usability -
and to tell me it would be worth my while to do something about it!

I hope you enjoy them - and let me know what you think!
